It’s Truck Week, and all eyes are on the bi-annual Brisbane Truck Show (BTS), the flagship event celebrating Australia’s heavy vehicle industry. Promoted as the Southern Hemisphere’s largest showcase of trucks, trailers, components, equipment, and technology, it’s ironically the smallest trucks that often make the biggest impact: those from Drake Collectibles.
BTS has become synonymous with exciting new Drake releases, and 2025 is shaping up to be a standout year. A pre-show agenda reveals no fewer than 13 model announcements or new tooling reveals, setting the stage for one of Drake’s most ambitious showings yet.

To celebrate this year’s event, we’re taking a look back at the 2023 show and the models revealed there to see how they’ve performed over the past two years.
Hi-Quality Group
QLD-based oversized and heavy haulage specialists, Hi-Quality Heavy Haulage, made their Drake Collectibles debut at BTS23 with a truck and trailer pairing in their striking green and white livery.

With a Diecast Detective Price for 'New' sitting around $250, the truck has not appreciated in value since release. The trailer sits around $320 which is approximately 10% up on its release price.

Both the truck and trailer are still available at RRP ($295 and $625 respectively). Interestingly, the trailer’s Diecast Detective Price is around 10% above RRP, with eight of the last nine eBay sales landing just under $700—proof that it pays to shop around. Meanwhile, the truck is trending the other way, with its Diecast Detective Price sitting about 10% below RRP and recent eBay sales coming in under retail.
The first—and so far only—T909 Director Series trucks were unveiled at BTS23, featuring liveries from Ross Transport, VE Group, and Membrey’s Transport. While the Ross and VE Group editions were released to the public just a week after the show, collectors had to wait a full six months before the highly anticipated Membrey’s truck finally hit shelves.
Z01398 - Membrey's Transport - 'Birthday Truck'
Evergreen collector-favourite, Membrey's Transport, added to their diecast legacy with a special release celebrating Craig Membrey’s 50th birthday, with the truck featuring a full-size mural of Craig on the back of the sleeper. A generous production run of 1,250 has ensured this model never fell victim to the typical inflated resale market for new Membrey's releases.

Z01448 - VE Group
VE Group’s first appearance in the Drake Collectibles lineup broke cover at BTS23 by way of a sleek white and silver T909, complete with a custom mural on the sleeper—an eye-catching tribute to 90 years of Kenworth, designed by owners Nathan and Bronwen Howell. Produced in a limited run of just 750 units.

Z01578 - Ross Transport
Wollongong-based transport company, Ross Transport made their Drake Collectibles debut with a striking pink livery promoting breast cancer awareness. A message on the back of the sleeper honours both cancer patients and women in transport, while white-letter tyres—used for the first time by Drake—add another unique touch. Limited to 1,000 units, prices have surged over the past year, fuelled in part by the release of the rainbow sister truck and matching B-Double Eziliner, as collectors chase the full Ross Transport set.

All three trucks have seen strong price growth, but in a clear display of supply and demand dynamics, the lowest production run—VE Group—has delivered the highest increase, with the Diecast Detective Price up 43%. It’s followed by Ross Transport (+39%) and Membrey’s (+29%). Interestingly, despite not leading in growth, the Ross Transport truck holds the highest peak price at $698—$98 more than VE Group.

BoxLoaders
Drake launched their O'Phee BoxLoader models to market in 2021 but collectors had to wait two years to get their hands on three of the most popular liveries: Doolan's Heavy Haulage, Drake Orange and Membrey's Transport.

ZT09262 - Drake Orange

ZT09246 - Membrey's Transport 60th Anniversary Livery

As might be expected from a limited release model (500 units), the Membrey's BoxLoader has outperformed the other BoxLoaders released at BTS23. A quick Google search actually shows that all three are available for sale. In the case of Doolan's and Drake Orange, they can be purchased for RRP and Membrey's for $330 which is +$40 on RRP. Having said that, the Membrey's BoxLoader recently achieved a new peak price of $450 on eBay.

Rounding out the BoxLoader models released at the show is the BoxLoader Combination (ZBXLCOMBO) comprising a BoxLoader-branded Kenworth K200 2.3 with a Drake-branded container. This model is something of an enigma having not recorded a single reported sale in the two years since release. Needless to say there's stock of this model readily available online. For whatever reason this one doesn't seem to have resonated with collectors.
