Australia’s premier sports car endurance race kicks off this week at Mount Panorama. While entries are lighter than usual, the event remains a showcase of GT car appeal—and a growing focus for collectors shifting from Supercars to Bathurst 12 Hour models.

The variety is irresistible, featuring Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes, Nissan, Porsche, and even Fiat (Abarth). Expect Corvette and Mustang GT3s to join the grid in the coming years, fueling the GM vs Ford rivalry.

Despite strong collector interest, major brands like AUTOart, Minichamps, and Spark have been reluctant to produce Bathurst 12 Hour models. Thankfully, Hightek Diecast Models Australia has stepped in, offering limited runs of cars that might never have been made.

To date, only 40 models have been produced in 1:18 scale across 14 races—fewer than three per year. Five of these now hold a Diecast Detective Price exceeding $1,000 in new or used condition.

Let’s dive into the top five most valuable Bathurst 12 Hour models.
