After 39 Supercars wins from 645 race starts across 287 events, Mark Winterbottom brought his illustrious full-time racing career to an end at the 2024 VAILO Adelaide 500. His departure came following his replacement at Team 18 by Anton de Pasquale in 2025, closing a chapter headlined by two Sandown 500 victories, a championship and a Bathurst 1000 victory.

Mark Winterbottom began his Supercars journey in 2003 with Stone Brothers Racing, dominating the Konica Development Series in his rookie year. With no room in SBR's main lineup for 2004, he joined Larkham Motorsport, partnering Jason Bargwanna through 2005. Despite the team's struggles, Frosty impressed with a best result of 5th, earning a spot at Ford Performance Racing in 2006 alongside Jason Bright. The duo won the Sandown 500, giving Frosty his first round win. He added his first sprint win at Phillip Island later in the year and achieved his first individual round victory in Bahrain in 2007.

So far, 41 replicas of cars driven by Winterbottom have been produced in 1:18 or 1:12 scale. Let's take a closer look at some of his more significant cars.

Frosty's Bathurst Winner

Classic Carlectables released two versions of the 2013 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 Winner model in 1:18 scale: the standard edition (18549) and the signature edition (18564). The signature edition was far more limited, with only 500 units produced, compared to the 3100 units of the standard edition, which was also released in a 1:12 scale by APEX Replicas (AR12001).

Despite its "signature" name, the car itself was not signed; instead, the box and the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) featured unique designs and signatures, distinguishing it from the standard version.

These models were notable as the first resin releases by Classic Carlectables, a departure from their traditional diecast production. However, the quality of the resin models was widely criticized for falling short of the industry-leading standards set by their earlier diecast models, which collectors considered superior.

Frosty's Most Valuable Model

The legendary "GT" car is by far the most valuable Mark Winterbottom model. Frosty debuted with Ford Performance Racing (FPR) in 2006, running several liveries throughout the season, but it was in this striking "GT" livery that he claimed his first solo Supercars win in Race 3 of the Grand Finale at Phillip Island.

While the diecast model doesn't replicate the white five-spoke wheels that were on the actual winning car, its rarity and significance make it highly sought after by collectors. This model is rarely seen on the market and commands premium prices, often exceeding $1,000. It is not only the most valuable Winterbottom model but also holds the distinction of being the most valuable Ford V8 Supercar model as well.

18253 - 2006 Season - BF Falcon - Ford Performance Racing (FPR)
Released in October 2006 by Classic Carlectables
Production run of 500
