The Holden LH Torana, released in March 1974, was a significant step for Holden as it marked the first time the Torana was offered exclusively with a larger, mid-sized body designed specifically for Australian conditions. Replacing the smaller LJ model, the LH series was developed to provide a more powerful and comfortable option for Australian drivers, particularly those who wanted a mix of performance and practicality. Unlike its predecessor, the LH Torana could be equipped with a range of engines, including Holden’s 3.3-liter six-cylinder and two V8 options: a 4.2-liter and a high-performance 5.0-liter.
Biante/AUTOart are the only companies to have produced a street version of the LH Torana in 1:18 model form, releasing a total of seven SL/R 5000s with L34 Option, between 2002 and 2021.
